Notes On Killing Seven Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Board Members

West Coast Premiere |  May 5 – May 26, 2024

By Mara Vélez Meléndez | Directed by Andréa Agosto

Co-Production with Diversionary Theatre

Lolita finds herself in the Wall Street office of the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Board. Like a Boricua Lolita before her, she is here in the name of La Revolución! She’s got glamour, glitter, and a gun, but is she really ready? In this fantasmagoria where drag and surrealism collide, we are faced with the question of who decides what’s best for Puerto Rico and for our own bodies.

Cast & Creative Team

Christine Carmela (Lolita) she/her is thrilled to be making her MOXIE Theatre debut by returning to the role of Lolita in Notes on Killing Seven Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Board Members, a role she originated in the World Premiere of the play at Soho Repertory Theatre in New York. She acquired her BFA in Acting from TCU in Fort Worth, TX and her MFA in Writing for Screen from USC in Los Angeles, where she is now based. Along with Soho Rep, her stage credits include performances at Uptown Players, Circle Theatre, Amphibian Stage, and more. She’d like to dedicate her performance to her father and her abuela, for making her the proud Boricua she is today (and for not making fun of her accent [too much]). Find her on Instagram/TikTok @ichris.tine
