Repeat and Respond: Meisner Technique with Guest Artist Lisa Berger
Wednesdays 6-8pm for 4 weeks starting February 8th, 2012
This 4 week session will focus on the teachings and principles of Sanford Meisner. An original member of the revolutionary Group Theatre, Meisner devised his theories from the great Russian director/teacher Konstantin Stanislavski. His work utilizes improvisational exercises and written texts to guide the actor to a full realization of self and the building of a truthful acting instrument.

Young Professional Coaching with Jo Anne Glover
Private Lessons are available for experienced younger students age 13-18 interested in working on character development, developing audition monologues and enhancing performance technique in a more personalized, supportive environment.

Mini-MOXIE Mornings: with Lisel Gorell-Getz
A class for parents of 3-5 year olds who would like to share the joys of creative play with their Pre-Schoolers. Parent involvement required.
Dates: 4 week session, dates TBD

Youth Theatre Workshop Level 1 with Lisel Gorell-Getz
A chance for 6-10 year olds to explore theatre-making and storytelling. Perfect for beginning theatre students interested in learning the basics of acting, classes include ensemble theatre games, improvisation techniques, and on-stage storytelling!
Saturdays 10-11:30 for 4 weeks starting January 14th, 2012

Youth Theatre Workshop Level 2 with Lisel Gorell-Getz
For older students age 11-14 who are interested in taking the next step in their theatre training. We will be working on developing characters, learning rehearsal techniques and working with scene partners.

TEACHER BIOS:
Jo Anne Glover: Jo Anne was trained in acting at New York’s Circle in the Square Professional Training Program. She has worked as an actress across the country for the last 20 years. As a teacher, she has conducted corporate team-building workshops with MOXIE Theatre for such corporations as half-full, Disney/Pixar, Packet Video and Sendt. She also works as a private acting and vocal coach, specializing in sound production and dialect work.
Jennifer Barclay: Jennifer is an award-winning playwright and actor who's worked extensively in Chicago, across the country, and abroad in Scotland and Vienna. She was the 2010 Playwright in Residence at South Coast Repertory. Jennifer is a graduate of Northwestern University and UC San Diego, and currently teaches at UC San Diego, MiraCosta College, South Coast Repertory, The Old Globe, and La Jolla Playhouse.
Lisa Berger: Lisa has taught for such organizations as The Metropolitan Opera, Theatre for a New Audience, Broadway's The Lion King, the La Jolla Playhouse, UCSD and Groddmont College. She is an Ensemble member at New Village Arts. Her directing credits include The Boys Next Door, Picnic, and Looking for Normal at the Diversionary Theatre.
Janet Hayatshahi: Janet has worked as an actor, director, and teaching artist in San Diego, Chicago, and the central coast of California. She was an ensemble member of Sledgehammer Theatre from 2000-2005 and of Eclipse Theatre Company in Chicago from 1996-1998. She has served as lecturer in the theatre departments of San Diego State University, Grossmont College, and San Diego City College and is a teaching artist for The Old Globe Theatre and The La Jolla Playhouse. She is currently an MFA candidate in Dance Theatre at the University of California, San Diego.
Lisel Gorell-Getz: Lisel is the Director of Education at the School of MOXIE. She has been a Theatre Educator for over 20 years, teaching students age Kindergarten through Adult in various classes and workshops all over San Diego County. Locally she has taught with the La Jolla Playhouse, North Coast Repertory Theatre, The Institute for Arts Education, and The Actor’s Center.
