Auditions for MOXIE's 2008-2009 Season are on August 4, 2008.  The time and location are to be announced.  Please email jen@moxietheatre.com to arrange an appointment.  Review the available roles below. Copies of scripts will be available to check out at Diversionary Theatre.  Please DO READ THE PLAY you would like to be cast in. You will be reading sides from the plays.  No Monologues will be necessary.

Actors who would like to be considered for the following roles must be available Sept 8, 2008-Nov 2, 2008

EDWIN REDPATH aka RED – 20’s -30’s. White. A pro-slavery “Border Ruffian” from Missouri. Red is a hard talking, hard drinking, dirty, sexy wanderer.

GEORGE CLARKE 30’s – 40’s – White. A free-state farmer from Indiana. Married to and in love with a headstrong woman .  George is  romantic and warm, but determined to be a farmer, even if he is not very handy.

JOSIAH NICHOLS  – White. 20's - 30's White. A pro-slavery farmer from Missouri. Sociable and neighborly, Joe is a gentle soul who would rather farm his own land than have the plantation system. Married with a bunch of kids, Joe is a family man.

Actors who would like to be considered for the following roles must be availble Jan 12, 2009-March 8, 2009

DANI CARTER- female 18+ (looks 17).  A tough talking teenager with an acerbic sense of humor who befriends a pedophile on the internet.  Recovering from an eating disorder. Please note this actress must be able to handle adult language and situations on stage. MUST be able to learn an English accent.

JAN CARTER - 40's-Early 50's. Dani's mother.  Uses denial to deal with absent husband and daughter recovering from eating disorder.  She has kept her figure if not her dignity. MUST be able to learn English accent.

TIM SAUNDERS - Late 30's-Early 40's. A lonely, desperate and somewhat charming man who is attempting to overcome an addiction to child sexual abuse. MUST be able to learn and English accent.

LEWIS SAMPSON - Early 20's. Looking for companionship and perhaps physical gratification on the internet.  Lives on his own but his mom still does his laundry. MUST be able to learn an English accent.

FLORELA - 20's spirited, impulsive, intelligent young woman

RICARDO- 20's-30's steadfast friend to Florela and Alejandro

ALEJANDRO-20's 30's Florela's impetuous, somewhat neurotic, handsome fiance'

CAMACHO - Teens-20's young man of quicksilver energy, a messenger, fool and trickster

LAURA - 20's confident, poised, giddy young woman

FINEA - Laura's plain-spoken confidante

PARIS - 20's-30's Laura's charming and ardent suitor, a dandy in the Wilde-an sense with a rock star energy.

ESTACIO - 20's Paris' loyal assistant

DUCHESS- 40's-50's Laura's mother, sly, elegant, a gracious politician
